This is as far back as I’m going, I promise.
This is a spice cake from Paula Deen that I made for our Christmas Day celebration last year:
It was sooo good. Super rich, but so great.
Meringues for Christmas Day, a practice of piping and chocolate drizzle:
Merry Christmas again! Wouldn’t it be great if the holiday season was about 4 months longer?

Mom's Birthday Cake
For her birthday over the summer, my mom requested a raspberry chocolate cake. I had a blast making this. I used a chocolate cake mix, and then took raspberry jam and swirled it into the mix in the pans:
Then I layered them, frosted them, and added more raspberries and chocolate chips on top :)
Happy late Birthday, Mom! Love you!

Merry Christmas (A Month Late) and my Second Attempt at Cookie Decorating
I’m not even going to show you my first attempt. I made them for my family in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving and they all looked like Easter eggs. Every single one.
Anyway, I think these turned out much better.
I was at school super late for exams last semester, and by the time I finally got home it was 3 days to Christmas. The second I walked in the door I said to my mom, “Mom, all I’ve been doing is locking myself in the basement of the library for the past 6 days, and all I’ve been wanting to do is make these cookies.” And she was all for it.
So the next three days were a whirlwind of powdered sugar and flour and food coloring. On Christmas Eve I sat in front of mounds and mounds of cookies slowly working on my technique while my mom and I watched Grown Ups. Super funny movie.
Overall, one of the best Christmases I’ve had in a long time. And sorry these are late. New blog, going to be posting some old pictures from previous projects. I have these pictures all over the place and I’d like them to be in one place.
I’ll be back with some other pictures later today!
First Post, Fancy Dinner, Good Friends
Tonight, I finally started this blog. It feels a little weird to be writing this now, because I feel like no one’s reading it yet. Regardless, it’s baby steps, right?
I love to make food. Mostly desserts, but I like to make dinner and lunch and breakfast too. Basically any time I can be eating, I will.
Tonight, I made dinner for some friends that I hadn’t seen in WAYYY too long. I made a fancy dinner and planned ahead of time (whoa, insane right?) and had a great time. Ben, Drew, VJ, and Jordan are a great group of guys, and thanks to Ben’s awesome photography I have some pictures. I’ll work on taking my own some other time. He took this picture of me last year which I love:
Anyway, dinner. On the menu tonight we have Rosemary Pork Tenderloin, Green Bean and Cucumber Salad, Bruschetta, and Lemon Angel Food Cake for dessert. YUM.
I didn’t get a picture of the cake because we gobbled it up before I got the chance, but trust me, it was delish!
Well, I’m off to clean the kitchen, then maybe watch an episode or two of House. I’m hooked. Thank goodness for no Friday class!
